Schools out for summer! Except … CATS Cambridge has welcomed students from around the world for summer school in the UK.
Our high school students are enjoying a well-deserved break from their studies, and our graduating A Level and UFP classes are preparing for university in Autumn 2024. But campus is buzzing with laughter and learning as students enjoy their summer study holiday experience.
In partnership with Stafford House Study Holidays, we offer two exciting summer school courses.
Both courses are ideal for students wanting to participate summer school in the UK.
Our Summer School Courses
A science summer school in Cambridge is perfect for students passionate about science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics!
This study holiday course develops knowledge and skills through engaging lectures and workshops that challenge students to solve real-world problems with science, maths and engineering.
Previous workshops have included Build a Volcano, The Thermite Reaction and Cauliflower Cloning!
Daily English lessons focus on developing scientific vocabulary and grammar as well as improving speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.
A great summer school course for budding scientists, engineers and mathematicians!
A dynamic, interactive English summer school course focused on developing confidence and motivation.
On some courses, students learn to study English. On a Stafford House Study Holidays course, students learn to use English.
Learning takes places in a variety of settings – workshops, trips and activities – as well as in the classroom.
Our students punt on the River Cam, play volleyball, learn to drum, make jewellery and many more.
Courses also include half and full day excursions, including trips to London, and fun evening activities.
All these activities are opportunities to use the English skills learnt in the classroom and develop real world confidence.
Summer Fun Beyond the Classroom
Every summer school course offers daily English lessons, where our experienced teachers use fun activities, games and conversation to build confidence and motivation.
But summer school is not just hours in a classroom!
Daily Activities
Every student spends half the day engaged in fun activities.
For our STEM students, these activities might be building a marble run, learning to code or exploring robotics with lego.
On our Classic English course, activities may include a circus skills workshop, mini Olympics or arts and crafts workshops.
Evening Activities
Every evening, activities are offered that let students relax and socialise.
From discos to game nights, through talent shows, film screenings and sports competitions, a wide range of activities are offered across the week.
Excursions
All summer school courses include one full day and one half day excursion.
Different excursions are offered each week. Potential excursions include full day visits to London and Canterbury, half day trips to the National Space Centre, Bury St Edmunds and Ely.
